Hyper responsive opt-in email lists-Part 2

This is the final installment in the series on using email autoresponders in your business to increase sales. I hope you’ve enjoyed this series and please comment on this post to let me know of another series you’d like me to provide content on….if it’s on your mind it’s important!

The first thing to do is to determine what customers need. It should be a product or a service that should provide a solution of some kind that will improve the quality of life either at home or at work.

Marketing a product especially new ones takes time and money to establish itself. Profit is not made in the first sale but occurs when the customer decides to buy again or through repeat sales.

·           The next is to do the proper research. If your business is done with a group of people or a single proprietorship, it is best to come up with the best ways to reach out to your audience. Come up with a fun campaign or contest, it should be catchy and will easily be remembered. Given that there are probably others who have been in the business longer, it is best to think of them too to get their input and advice.

·           A product of good quality should be sold at a decent price. Sometimes, the product you make or service you provide is already available in the market….just “Google” your product or service for a real eye-opener!  To be competitive, you have to figure out a way to convince people as to why this product is better than the other leading brands. What features does it have that the competitor doesn’t? What makes it unique and what service can it give as well?

·           The best way to do this is to use your email list to educate them on your product or service, notify them of updates and upcoming events. Hold a Teleseminar on how your product or service works!

To be successful, one should be sure that the merchandise that a customer will order can be delivered on time. If there are any problems, a customer support staff or system should be ready to cater to that.

You do not need a wonder product to make it work…..and frankly, you don’t need to be the best one in the market either….just be there and provide good value with integrity!

All it takes is a list of people who one can contact without being accused of spamming. Soon, this will get the attention of the right people and sales should start coming in.

Any business big or small must maximize marketing to get the message across. Online marketing tools like email autoresponders are just one of the new ways of making money. It is up to the person to find that need and take advantage of it.

Discover How New Marketing is Required to Survive and Thrive in Today’s Economy

For the past 100 years businesses have been extremely successful in marketing their products and services with traditional methods that had been tried and true. Methods such as TV advertising, Radio, Newspaper, Direct Mail just to name a few were (and unfortunately still are) the mainstay for most businesses. Throw enough money at advertising to the masses through these media options and you would see great results.

But what has recently been discovered is that with the explosion of media that thrives on the use of technology, business owners no longer reap the lucrative rewards of success through these Old Marketing methods. They find that their old idea of marketing of attempting to “interrupt” the masses and convince them to buy their products and services no longer work and have become a tremendous drain on their budget. TV, Radio, Yellow Pages, Newspaper, Telemarketing and Direct mail are all in trouble because of the realization that we are in an age that demands marketing through New Marketing channels.

In his great book “Meatball Sundae”, Seth Godin describes New Marketing as:

Fourteen trends that no marketer can afford to ignore. It explains about what to do about the increasing power of stories, not facts; about shorter and shorter attention spans; and about the new math that says five thousand people who want to hear your message are more valuable than five million who don’t”.

New Marketing is taking the realization that a consumer does not want to be “sold” a product or service, they not only want to buy it on their own accord, they want to feel like they know, like and trust the people and organization behind them!

New Marketing uses tools such as: My Space, YouTube, Twitter, Squidoo, Blogs, TeleConferences and Webcasts and delivers a marketing message with techniques such as “Permission and Viral Marketing”.

As a Small Business Owner, you must embrace the fact that you no longer can learn a few “closing techniques” to sell your product or service to the masses. You must realize that when you determine what your target market and ideal client looks like, and then discover what their burning needs are, then and only then can you come in to solve their  needs with your product or service. You should not take the mind-set of selling what you have…you must make what you can sell!

This means that you discover and listen to your audience (clients and prospects) and craft your product or service to meet their needs….and if you cannot do that, you have the wrong audience!

  • New Marketing capitalizes on every single client and prospect interaction as a form of media and advertising.
  • New Marketing creates a warm and inviting environment around all your clients and prospects alike that allows them to communicate about your product and service.
  • New Marketing allows the audience to feel heard and appreciated which builds for you a powerful outcome called “Social Proof”. People buy when they realize that others have bought and received great results!
  • New Marketing is not just about the tools and technology to connect with an audience to sell your products and services, as much as it is a mind-set shift. It is thinking from the perspective of the audience, what they need, what problems they have, and then how you can effectively meet those needs with your products or services.

You know the old saying: “What is everyone’s favorite radio station? It’s WiiFM….What’s in it for ME”

We must recognize that this is how most of us are hard-wired and by refocusing on a mentality of giving to clients and prospects you set yourself apart. This is why a 3-step marketing process works so well:

  1. Offer a Free Report or Mini-Course on your product or service
  2. Have them opt-in to receive it by email
  3. Follow up with an automated email series giving unique, fun content-rich information

This way they make the decision to ask for the information that interests them, they make the decision to reach out to you when they are ready to buy. Why do they reach out to you? Because you have provided them with something no other business has…information and research on the product or service you can offer them. While writing up the follow up material just remember to approach it in a manner that is completely educational with minimal selling.

Making Your Opt-in Email List Hyper Responsive!

Getting the attention of people to buy a certain product is challenging. There were times in the past when telemarketing was at times more of a nuisance rather a convenience to people….and how about all the junk mail we get?!

The same goes for sales people who would go house to house and show a product and were simply turned down….and for some odd reason there has been a huge increase in this in my neighborhood in the last year!

Now as people have approached the digital age, there is a quicker way of doing it and that is through hyper responsive opt-in email list. This is basically creating a mailing list and sending the information to people which will contribute to your business sales.

A person can do it in the office or at home and it can only be done if one is serious about communicating their sales message to prospects and clients as a way of “buying brain cells”. This means that as you consistently communicate with your list, they know what you offer and for that 5 second time-frame it takes them to open the e-mail and scan the 1st few lines before deleting it….they thought of you!

Here are some benefits and features of using hyper responsive opt;

1.         With a click of the mouse, the product a person wants to sell can get to the customer in lightning speed. Surveys have shown that the average person will only buy a product only after being exposed to the ad or the message after 7 times.  By establishing a customer base via the internet, one no longer has to search for new ones that much but rely on the existing clientele to further spread the word and increase sales.

2.         Some people will not immediately buy the product that is offered but by keeping the names in the mailing list, it is possible that when a product of interest is on hand, the person will then buy. Let’s face it, people need things at different times and we need to be there to provide what we sell at their time of need! In fact I’m not at all a real estate investor, but for years I’ve been on the email list of Joe Crump and if I ever wanted to get into real estate investing he’s the person I’d get training from because it’s been burned into my mind for so long seeing his emails!

3.         When a site has been made, it can be used to bring in additional revenue as new people who want to join the business can be charged for advertising.

4.         This can also be used to propose joint ventures with other people making the business grow further.

Building, maintaining, growing and educating your email list is the most lucrative thing you can do for your business. Always remember to make the emails memorable and educational…fill them with good content, humor….but most of all….your personality!

And for those of you who would like to totally learn 100% how to master Aweber, click on the Autoresponder System tab above and get set up for their service, they are the #1 autoresponder on the market.

Then Click Here for some great Aweber training from Bob the Teacher, I’ve learned so much from this course and I know you will too!

Answers to Recent Questions: Search Engine Ranking, Social Networking

This week I received questions from my blog visitors who opted in to my video newsletter and they were so good that I thought the answers may help you too!

Please let me know if these answers make you think of another question and just post them in the comment section below!

************************************************************************************************************

Question #1:

How do is the cheapest way to get on first pag e search engine?

Answer:

Hey Erica!

Thanks for the question about getting top rankings on search engines

My advice is to use video, the huge craze about video has made it such that Google indexes the video so much faster and higher than a website!
I checked out your website and like what you’ve done. I’d recommend adding a video introdustion to the main page with you explaining what you’re all about and what makes you different….then maybe create a page that is various videos of you making your products showing where the ingredients come from etc!
You can use these videos to get higher rankings in the search engines and make your site more exciting to the visitors!
Here’s a free way:
*Create a video of you and your product or service and then upload it to www.TubeMogul.com who then will distribute it to about 10 different video hosting sites!
(you need to set up an account with them and those sites but it’s all free)

Here’s the best option:
*Build a vibrant blog that markets for you with social media, search engine indexing, video, podcasts etc
Just click on my blog on the tab “Blogging System” at the top to look at that service (if you’re interested in using them I can give you a coupon for 33% off)

Have a nice day and keep in touch!

Question #2

Is it possible to oursource to handle the socia l networking for me, or do i just make it a priority – i find it so very time consuming

Answer:

Hey Jane!

Excellent question!
In today’s world I think that we can allow ourselves to get stretched WAAAAY too thin!
Yes you can outsource these things to places like elance.com or to a Vitual Assistant who would do all the social media postings as well as update your blog…but the trade-off is that at least for the social media aspect you’d lose the personal side of expressing yourself which is a lot of the benefit of social media…

I think it all depends on what your specific goals are in your business and see if a Virtual Assistant may be the way!

Good luck and let me know if there’s anything I can do for you!

Having an opt-in list is not easy, it is hardwork but with some advantages too

But to build an opt-in mail list has to be focused and effective in truly capturing the desired target. Take a look at these 10 Quick Easy Steps to Building A Highly Targeted and Responsive Opt-in List.

1.         Choose your target market or niche. Remember you are not the only one competing in the product or service you offer. You have to be sure who your audience is and what they need…this is such a key point that I don’t want you to miss it. Seth Godin teaches in his book “Meatball Sundae” that the New Media Marketing era demands that we have to reach out to our audience and ask them what they need and then provide it to them!

2.         Be sure that you can reach your target audience online, and let’s face it most everyone these days has an email address, so communicating with them is not an issue.

3.         Do not waste on time on typical advertising spending like the phone book….unless you make the ad a “direct response” draw offering a free report on something your target audience needs, and then direct them to your opt-in form on your website. Always monitor your spending, and make the most of it by this method

.

4.         Forums and discussion boards are available for maximum use. Find your target market problems by giving your expertise in the different forums in your niche…..never ask for business until you’ve done this. Then direct them to your free offer and they can opt-in to your list!

5.         Identify what is keeping your customers from getting what they want and help them get it. Try offering your viewers solving some of their problems, and send out the Top 10 answers to the questions received this week to the entire list!

6.         Set up a simple direct response mini-site.

7.         Get an auto-responder account. It is important for you to acquire and set this thing up because this is where your visitors will come.

8.         Bait your potential customers through giveaways like: ebooks, special reports, mini courses and coupons, etc.

9.         Reach out in any way you can to your target market.

10. Always be looking for ways to bring value to your list!

Opt-in building is a tedious work but with amazing results. The process of building it takes time and effort but persists. Always treat your list members as a goldmine so that you will offer them the best deals in the market, those with great quality and value. Doing all these, would earn you credibility and a profitable business.
